Founder of Rockfish Design Studio, glass-half-full type of person, cat mom, and solar-powered human.
For the past 8+ years, I have helped small business owners create bold, meaningful and memorable branding that amplifies their brand personality.
Throughout those years, I have had the opportunity to help a handful of clients navigate the process of choosing a name for their new business – which is always such a rewarding and meaningful experience, since it becomes the foundation of their brand.
After the most recent naming process for a client, I decided it would be beneficial to create this workbook highlighting my most helpful tips and prompts for the naming process. That way it is accessible to anyone who is going through the business naming process (like you!), and not just my branding clients.
The story behind the name Rockfish
A BIG MOVE
In May of 2020, we moved into our new house on Rockfish Street.
DREAM OFFICE
After working for my corporate design job remotely out of my bedroom for 3 years, I FINALLY had the home office of my dreams.
PANDEMIC
Things were looking up… until… later that SAME week, I was laid off because of the pandemic.
RESET
Unsure of what my next steps would be, I started pouring my time and energy into what I love and what I am good at – graphic design and making connections.
LAUNCH
I launched Rockfish Design Studio, started freelancing full-time and business hasn’t slowed down since.
GROW
Although it has been years in the making, my business has taken root and flourished on Rockfish Street.
So, no, nothing to do with the big red fish. Just a memorable name in honor of a memorable place in my life and career. Born out of adversity, nourished by perseverance and a passion for design.
