ABOUT THE BUSINESS:
Smiles & Miles is a running coaching service based in San Diego offering one-on-one coaching and custom training plans. The coach and face behind the brand, Jess, is always full of enthusiasm and compassion. She has so much passion for not only the science and performance aspects of running, but also making sure her clients are ENJOYING the sport. Her goal is to empower her clients to find that balance and encourage them to smile through every mile because she believes that if an athlete is happy, they will perform their best.
ABOUT THE BRANDING:
The Smiles & Miles logo suite is timeless and grounded, yet it also evokes hints of energy and movement. The dashed line used throughout the logo variations symbolizes a trail map for trail runners or also could be interpreted as lines on a road for road runners. The ampersand weaving through the pine tree mimics the way a trail runner glides through the trees on a mountain path. The curve of the word ‘coaching’ in the primary logo mirrors that of a smile. The shape used in the secondary logo is the shape of the PCT sign, which is a familiar and welcoming shape to those who frequent long distance mountain trails. The slogan logo and wave logo are dynamic with movement and energy. The three fonts used throughout the logo variations are each unique and full of personality, but overall have the same soft-edge style – creating harmony when used together.
