ABOUT THE BUSINESS:

Rising Run Coaching offers personalized training programs and monthly coaching for trail and road runners. The coach behind the brand, Kim, is focused on making athletes of all backgrounds and skill levels feel welcome and empowered.

As an avid runner herself, Kim aims to help other runners “rise to the occasion” and find the balance of life and sport that she has found, guided by her past experiences and lessons learned. Her motto is “progress over perfection”, which is demonstrated in her Lydiard Certified style of coaching. This approach focuses on perceived effort instead of assigning paces, in turn focusing on the whole athlete instead of just pushing results.

ABOUT THE BRANDING:

The Rising Run logo suite is energetic and playful, yet professional. The symbol of the phoenix rising with the sun feels empowering and motivating. The symbol is full of dynamic movement, while still being stable and grounded.

Like elements found in nature, the symbol as a whole is a piece of art, but when you focus in on the small details, they take on even more meaning. The feathers/wings of the phoenix are a nod towards Kim’s coaching clients having multiple facets of life all coming together to rise up and create the best, balanced version of themselves as a runner and person in general.

The symbol has slightly softened edges and points to create a welcoming feeling, which mirrors the rounded corners of the classic serif font used. The serif font is balanced out by a bold sans serif font used as an accent font to establish hierarchy.

The lines on top and bottom of the word “coaching” in the primary logo are a nod to a running path or road. The RR submark is simple, yet memorable and symbolizes two runners training alongside one another.
